Rao Deli - VIETNAMESE MINI - PANCAKE

Dragon Egg Mini-Pancake, as known as Bánh Khọt in Vietnamese, is one of top 10 Vietnamese best street food. Dragon Egg Mini-Pancake originally comes from Vung Tau, a small seaside town in Southern Vietnam. The crust is made from the Asian A-class rice flour mixed with coconut milk. After cooked to perfection the crust will have slight flavour of jasmine rice, rich taste of coconut milk, light and sticky in the inside, crispy on the outside. The main toppings of the pancake are prawn and tiny mung beans, meticulously cooked Vietnamese prawn floss, hot spring onion and several traditional Vietnamese herbs. After heated on a giant non-stick pan with 55 small molds, the cakes become yellow with very crispy outside crust, and also full of seafood flavour mixed with many kinds of fresh herbs. Rao Deli was founded by Trang Nguyen and Nhan Mac who both have more than 10 years working experience in Vietnamese restaurants and food industry. We would like bring in not only authentic Vietnamese street foods but also the creative fusion Vietnamese food. We developed our Dragon Egg cakes into 4 seafood options including prawn, crab, squid and mussel variants which are well seasoned and mixed with beautiful flavoured herbs in Vietnamese way. We also have a vegetarian option which is made of a finest selection of mushrooms and vegetables on the mini-pancake. All the ‘Dragon Eggs’ are made on order and served hot with a set of Vietnamese slaw, green-leaf lettuce, fresh herbs and Vietnamese authentic dipping sauce. Rao Deli’s aim is to bring the freshest and healthiest food to our customers. The finest rice flour is imported from Vietnam by Longdan Ltd., the biggest Vietnamese supermarket in London. All seafood products are purchased from Holmes Seafood Company, one of the UK leading seafood specialists located in Billingsgate Market. Fresh vegetables and herbs are carefully chosen from Montgomery Wholesale Fruit & Veg Ltd in New Spitalfields Market.
